Make Braddock Road Safe for our Children!

Make Braddock Road Safe for our Children!
The Issue
Braddock Road (from Backlick Road to Little River Turnpike) is a highly populated residential corridor with several elementary schools, middle schools, parks and High schools directly on the road and support heavy pedestrian usage for children walking to school.
Cross walks are completely illegible and have not been repainted after new asphalt.
Cross walk signals are needed as well as additional traffic slowing mechanisms.
Little to no speed enforcement is carried out by local police.
In addition side walks from the 1930's and 40's are crumbling into 20ft gorge drop offs into local water ways (that are neglected by the country and used as a dumping ground by VDOT and Dominion Power contractors).
This is unsafe for our children and frequent joggers. We need funds and focus to repair and maintain existing infrastructure to make Braddock road safe for pedestrians.
Fairfax county quickly responds to issues in the western half of the county but has ignored and continues to point to VDOT and the state. VDOT and the State then say the don't maintain pedestrian guard rails nor do they install them and that those are all owned and managed by Fairfax county. Typical dysfunctional government agencies passing the buck and point blame at others and not accepting ownership or responsibility for the safety of our children.
