Our Story:
This petition is rooted in the harrowing experience of a family subjected to the detrimental impact of negligent property management by Number One Property Management Newport. They rented a property at 4 High Street, Pentwynmawr, Newbridge, Newport, NP11 4HG, unaware of undisclosed water seepage issues and persistent chilliness from day one. Despite raising concerns, no assistance was provided, and the issues remained unresolved. The unhealthy conditions took a toll on the family's health, especially their 8-year-old asthmatic son, who developed significant wheezing.
Extensive damage to the family's furniture occurred due to fungus and mold, and utility bills skyrocketed. Despite reaching out to Number One Property Management Newport and the landlord, their pleas for help fell on deaf ears. To compound the injustice, the property management company colluded with Damp Proofer DTD to produce a report claiming no structural issues in the property. This unethical collaboration further compromised the family's well-being.
Forced to move out, the family discovered that Number One Property Management Newport not only failed to address the issues but also lied about the property having double glazing when it was, in fact, single glazed with the worst energy rating in the area. The family endured three miserable months in a three-bedroom property where two bedrooms became unusable due to the strong smell of fungus. The property management company's cruelty extended to blaming the family for the mold issues and attempting to seize the entire deposit, collaborating with DTD mold proofers to issue a report denying any structural issues.
