Raise the Income Limit for Medicaid Eligibility in Colorado

The Issue

I am a proud resident of Colorado, living with a disability. Despite my condition, I am employed. Colorado cost of living in our beautiful state is so high that I cannot afford to live off my disability benefits.  My family like many others struggle to pay for employer insurance co-pays, rent, and other bills needed to live.  My family along with many other families do not qualify for Medicaid due to Colorado's current income limits for this program. This situation leaves all of us struggling financially every day, unable to access the healthcare we need without sinking further into debt.

Ask yourself could you live off less then $1669.00 a month?

According to data from the Kaiser Family Foundation, as of 2020 only households making below 138% of the Federal Poverty Level qualify for Medicaid in most states. In a state like ours where living expenses are significantly higher than national averages, this limit is simply not enough.

We call on our local representatives and health authorities in Colorado to raise the income limit for Medicaid eligibility. This change will provide much-needed relief not just for families like mine but also thousands more across our state who find themselves caught between earning too much for assistance but too little to afford necessary care.

Please sign this petition if you believe everyone deserves access to affordable healthcare regardless of their income level or disability status.
