The number of offences involving a knife or sharp instrument increased by 7 per cent last year, official figures show. New Office for National Statistics data said there were 49,489 of these types of offences recorded by police between January 2023 and December 2023. This alarming rise in knife crime is deeply personal to me and many others who have been affected by such violence.

Knife crime not only endangers lives but also tears apart families and communities. It is crucial that we come together to raise awareness about this issue and push for stronger preventive measures, better education on the dangers of carrying knives, and more support for at-risk youth.
