The Issue
Hi, I'm Nathan in Atlanta. I'm 11 years old and I want to raise awareness about child labor, which is part of UN Global Goal 8-Decent Work and Economic Growth.
Did you know that worldwide, 1 in 10 children are engaged in child labor?
Child labor is when minors work when they shouldn't, leading to health and education problems. About 152 million children are child laborers , and 47% of those children are working dangerous jobs. Imagine yourself as a child, but instead of playing, learning and just being a kid, you're forced to work in a sweatshop or become a soldier, having your basic human rights taken away and instead having to slave away for hours with little pay and only small breaks.
Child labor is a crime against humanity, and it should never be forced upon any kid.
