Belagavi & Hubballi-Dharwad are two very important cities of N Karnataka, merely the distance between them is 74 kms by Rd, 1.5 hrs by bus , but the Railway track connecting the two cities is 121 kms, 4 hrs by train, even long distance trains have to waste 3hrs for their journey..

Since 2003 Every budget Govt sanctions only Surveys but no implementation, there are thousands of buses ply daily between the two cities with fare around  Rs 150/- but if this line is completed the train fare would be three times less then bus fare Rs 20-30 . 

Presently trains pass through Western Ghats with lot of curves, gradients, wildlife Corridors due to which there are lot of speed restrictions & trains take longer time, also threatening wildlife, even though the present train fare is around Rs 45-60, people prefer to travel by bus Paying Rs 150 /- for quick journey. .

Hence we request you to Sanction this long standing demand of the people of our region..
