As a part time clerk, we work hard but aren’t getting the pay we need. Majority of us work long hours, and are a very reliable assets to our store. We also have to deal with customers who don’t understand that we are short staffed and need help. We love our company as well as job, but there are jobs outside of QuikTrip that pay more, but we are trying to fix the problem before we have to resort in leaving. For instance, McDonald’s is starting workers out with $14 an hour, Walmart $15 an hour. We understand that we can leave and go to those jobs, but we really enjoy our job here. The cost of living in Greenville is higher than the cost of living in Clinton, or Anderson, even Columbia. Even with working here everyday, we are still not making enough, and as a part time clerks we endure more hardship than our supervisors. We hold the weight of our store, if someone calls out we as part time are the first people they call even though we have ERP, we do t always have the coverage. For example My coworkers and I have to work on our days off, due to if we don’t come our kitchen gets shut down, and our stores overall outcome is terrible. If we were paid more then we would have more people to apply and stay at the job. Please take into consideration our thoughts and suggestions. As well as this is coming from not just myself but, other workers at different stores across South and North Carolina.
