Put Muhammad Ali on a U.S. Postage Stamp

Put Muhammad Ali on a U.S. Postage Stamp
The Issue
"I should be a postage stamp, because that's the only way I'll ever get licked." - Muhammad Ali
Muhammad Ali recently passed away, leaving behind a legacy of social justice and athletic ability. The United States Postal Service should recognize his contributions to American culture and history by placing him on a postage stamp.
Muhammad Ali never shied away from a fight whether in or outside of the ring. Many know about his unprecedented boxing career. In what was called the golden age of heavyweight boxing, Muhammad Ali was an icon. He was able to take down every top heavyweight contender, received numerous honors, and rightly earned the nickname of “The Greatest.”
But that alone wasn’t what made him the greatest. Ali was willing to sacrifice everything he achieved in sports for doing what he thought was right. He stood up against the Vietnam War when it wasn’t popular. It would cost him years of his career and millions of dollars. Ali fought for Civil Rights alongside some of the most important leaders of the movement. There are not many athletes who have sacrificed so much for their beliefs.
Muhammad Ali is an example of what makes America great. Join me in asking the US Postal Service to place Muhammad Ali on a postage stamp.
