Put Killer Moth in LEGO® Batman™: Legacy of the Dark Knight #SaveLEGOKillerMoth
The Issue
I'm sure we all remember the build-up of excitement we all felt leading up to the reveal of a new LEGO Batman game this gamescom. The Rumours, the "leaks", the hopes and dreams, it was truly something else, and when we finally saw the dark knight put on the cowl once more it was an absolutely magical moment for so many Batman fans, but for many LEGO Batman (The Videogame) fans it may have been a moment of doubt and worry.
You see, the 2008 game was not only a financial success for all parties involved, and not only a beloved cult classic (relatively to other LEGO Games), but also the introduction to many kids around the globe to the Batman IP as a whole, and from what we've seen over the years, there's no character that has made a stronger, forever-lasting impression on those kids to this day (which is an entire 17 years by the way) than the boss of level 3-4, In The Dark Night: Killer Moth
Frankly, many of those fans were just expecting a return to a LEGO Batman 4 after the admittedly phenomenal LEGO DC Super-Villains, which has lacked in a lot of the areas the previous games excelled at, and while Legacy of the Dark Knight seems to be focusing a lot on bringing back the feeling of playing as a toyetic, over-the-top, plastic version of Batman, the concept of being based MOSTLY on the movies of the past (with a seemingly large push towards the Dark Knight trilogy and the new Matt Reeves Batman, and noticeable pushing-aside of the Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher films in the initial trailer and marketing material, which the LEGO Batman games were based on) the chances of us missing out on our fan-favourite character being included in the game keep growing and growing.
So here's our plea. Of course we'd love have other fan-favourites like Clayface, Penguin Henchman or the Mad Hatter (who still doesn't have a physical appearance in any LEGO Set to this day) in the game, but if we were going to boil it down to one singular request: we, as a community, beg for LEGO Killer Moth to be included in the game. Whether it be a small optional boss encounter, or a full-on playable character, we simply want to see our favourite character back in the spotlight, whether it be using his classic twitchy, lightbulb-obsessed buckethead interpretation beloved by fans, or something else if it be mandated by the LEGO Group. After his shrinking importance over time (having a strange, small appearance in LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, and simply being excluded from LEGO DC Super-Villains) our expectations are really low, but our hopes are through the roof.
We all love LEGO Games, and the ones made by TT Games especially. We're all extremely excited to play Legacy of the Dark Knight and it would really mean the world to us if we could have our mothman back.
