Put Danny "CHOCOLATE" MYERS in the NASCAR Hall of Fame 2018

The Issue

If #NASCAR is truly a team sport, then why are only drivers, team owners and track owners in the #NASCARHOF ? My husband, Danny "Chocolate" MYERS is the past and the present of the sport. His own father, Bobby Myers, was a NASCAR pioneer who lost his life while driving for Lee Petty in the 1957 Southern 500 when Choc was just a young boy. Later, as Choc pursued his own racing career, he and childhood friend Richard Childress sold peanuts and popcorn in the stands at Bowman Gray Stadium in Winston-Salem, NC, just to have money to buy car parts. In 1969, he and Childress and a few friends went to race in the 1969 Daytona 500. That was the beginning of a racing dynasty. However, it wasn't until 1982 that Choc finally started earning a real paycheck with the fledgling RCR. For 20 years, he jumped pit walls hoisting those 100-pound gas cans as he fueled the cars for driver Dale Earnhardt, Sr. Chocolate MYERS was and still is the only crew member name that fans know. He became more popular than many drivers. He appeared in commercials and in movies, like the Smokey and the Bandit series, color commentated for Hooligan races and had a local radio show in Lexington called Choc Talks. At RCR, he went into management, serving as the curator of the museum and serving on local and state boards to promote stock car racing. And then came SIRIUS XM and his show, Tradin Paint, one of channel 90's most popular shows with millions of loyal listeners each day. Chocolate, who has literally grown up in the sport, wiles away NASCAR fans each day with his folksy story telling and unfiltered opinions. Some say he is the Garrison Keillor of NASCAR.
SO, why not put Chocolate MYERS in the NASCAR HALL OF FAME? Is there a good reason why he shouldn't be in there? #voteforchocolate #includetherealpitroadworkers #chocforhof2018 #realmenworkinthepits
