A close read of past State of the Union addresses found that President Obama mentions climate change far less than President Bill Clinton ever did, and less even than President George W. Bush.

In his first State of the Union, President Obama spoke of the work needed to"save our planet from the ravages of climate change". Every year since then, his tone has gotten weaker and weaker. And in last year's State of the Union address, President Obama made no mention of climate change at all! Nothing, nada, zilch!

If we stick with business-as-usual on climate change, the danger to our future prosperity will grow. Demand President Obama be a leader on this issue!

The speech is only a few short days away. So sign the petition now!

Letter to
The President of the United States
I just signed the following petition addressed to: President Barack Obama.

Speak candidly about climate change in the State of the Union.

Climate change is already affecting the lives and well-being of millions of Americans, and threatening our collective security.

If we remain inactive, the danger to our future prosperity will grow. Meanwhile taking concrete action now to promote energy efficiency and switch to alternative energy can be a job engine to help spur our economy out of our current jobless recession.

Please speak honestly about climate change in your State of the Union address.
