Purdue University has decided to move all in-person classes to online classes for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester. This change was made to preserve the health and safety of Purdue students, staff, and faculty from the COVID-19 crisis. Although this change was made for good reasons, I feel that due to the unfamiliar format of teaching that is going to be used, classes should be changed to a Pass/Fail grading scale for this semester. I believe this change is necessary due to the learning curve this new format of teaching will entail on both the students and faculty. From my time spent at Purdue, I have come to love the dedication and hard work that we students put into our studies. This dedication will still be shown if the grading scale is changed to a Pass/Fail format for this current semester. Please sign and share this petition if you feel the same way.
