As a citizen of Punjab,India .I am deeply concerned about the future of our agricultural state. Our land is not just property; it's our livelihood and heritage. It's where we grow crops that feed millions across the country. However, this rich legacy is under threat as outsiders and corporations are buying up our lands for their own businesses.

Punjab is known as the 'Granary of India' or 'India's bread-basket'. It contributes nearly 20% to India’s wheat production and 11% to India’s rice production. This significant contribution could be jeopardized if corporations continue to buy up fertile farmland for non-agricultural purposes.

The impact on local communities would be devastating. Many families who have farmed these lands for generations could lose their livelihoods. The shift from agriculture to corporate industries may also lead to increased unemployment rates among rural populations.

We must protect our land, our farmers, and the food security of our nation by prohibiting outsiders and corporations from buying agricultural land in Punjab. We urge lawmakers to enact legislation that safeguards Punjab's agricultural lands from being sold off for non-agricultural purposes.

Kindly make a law that can protect us all.
