Publix has had rules in place that have been for far too long. Rules that prohibit males from having long hair or wearing earrings or hair colouring of almost any sort is against the rules. And rules against facial piercings for both genders is also unfair. Facial piercings in moderation are fairly becoming a popular trend and is a norm that publix should grow more accustomed to. These rules are outdated and some are a double standard that are just not fair anymore. It is 2020 and having long hair or having piercings is not viewed as unprofessional and publix needs to change these rules. If the rules apply to one gender, they must apply to all. If a rule is going to be in place in has to be applicable to all to maintain equality in the workplace.
