I'm starting this petition in hopes of having the rail line between Geelong and Ballarat resurrected, this is an important cause and it would help students commuting to university in Ballarat and would give them more flexibility with when they travel. At the moment there are two buses daily travelling either way at inconvenient times for some, or you must catch a train to Melbourne and then one to Geelong. This bus trip also takes two hours which cuts more time from student study, and the trains take even longer. Not only would it make a difference for students but it connects major cities, potentially bringing more business to both Ballarat and Geelong. It is important as the less time spent travelling, the more study that can be achieved which would help students a great deal.
