Electrify the Deer Park Train Station in VIC

0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!

Deer Park is a metropolitan area with one of Victoria's largest growth populations and still relies on regional V/Line trains as its main public transport system. Deer Park station is centrally located in the midst of 3 surrounding suburbs, with a combined population of 52,000 people who cannot make effective use of this train station.

How is it fair and just that Deer Park station has not one Metro train to it's name while $572 million from the $1.9 billion public transport budget will be used to duplicate the Cranbourne line in order to 'run new high capacity Metro trains'.

4 of the 12 projects intended for the $1.9 billion budget are geared towards improving Eastern suburbs. Why are Eastern suburbs always the focal point for projects and funds?

I would appreciate the line to be electrified so myself and many thousands of patrons in the surrounding suburbs do not have to wait approx an hour for the next train. Please sign the petition to show support and that I may be able to use this as supporting evidence that something should be done to improve the railways in the Western suburbs.
