The Oakland Valley Race Park (OVRP) must stop its destruction of our quality of life.   We're unable to enjoy peacefully our own homes, gardens, and yards. This blight is not only detrimental to our own and our children’s well-being, but the track’s noise pollution activity also damages the real estate value of our homes and properties.  From March through November, we suffer long days and long nights of constant, high-decibel, roaring, droning, and squealing from the increasingly louder and larger engines racing at the OVRP. We ask that the owners and racers be respectful of those who live nearby, to use effective silencers and mufflers, and to build noise barriers.  We ask the Town to update and enforce local noise ordinances for everyone!

Noise pollution and garbage-strewn roads are not found only along the Oakland Valley and the Neversink River; residents (taxpayers) near the KOA campground on Guymard Turnpike have also been subjected to appalling noise for the past several years.  Loud, inebriated visitors, trash (and worse) deposited on nearby owners' properties is what we have to endure. Our own backyards are not a peaceful refuge from Covid because of the constant noise pollution. Due to the pandemic the region has seen a significantly increased demand for real estate, but not here.  Who’d purchase a home next to a public nuisance? 
 
We ask for  the ability to live in peace and quiet in our own homes and gardens. We ask  - beg - that, rather than ignoring the plight of residents and homeowners, the Town Board work to implement a mutually beneficial and reasonable resolution to these problems. It is certainly the Town government’s duty to protect the Oakland Valley neighborhood of Cuddebackville and Huguenot in the Town of Deerpark, Orange County, New York.
