My brother was brutally stabbed to death in a premeditated attack. It was proven in court that he was murdered but the Judge gave the option of provocation to the jury  3 days before Xmas.  I do not think this option should have been given as his killer stated he was not provoked by my brother on the stand.    The Government has since abolished this defence as it knew too many murderers we’re getting away with lesser sentences and serving ridiculously short sentences in our case 4 years 8 months for not just stabbing him once but 8 times 4 in his chest as he lay dying he left him for 2 minutes then jumped on his back and stabbed him 4 more times making sure he killed him the 4 years 8 months was the maximum  they could keep him.  Another young man who lived locally never even got a trial the judge accepted he provoked his own death sentencing one to serve 2 years and two other killers 9 months and 3 months.   The law was wrong and this needs looking into how it could ever happen.and how it could be misused.   Please sign my petition for all families who have been failed.  Please read Joeys story and others in Blackpool on my website   Look under newspaper articles. http://www.letvictimsofmurderedlovedonesappealmanslaughterconvictions.co.uk
