People of Antipolo: "We Want FAIR Transportation FARE"

The Issue

Introduction

Nowadays, transportation fare became a concern for all the citizens of Antipolo City. There are a lot of complaints in social media regarding the high-fare of tricycle drivers. Our Vision is to help the citizen to solve one of their problem which is the high-fare, by minimizing the release of franchise and producing other jobs for the drivers. Our Mission is to reach out for the local government of Antipolo City. First is the Office of PTRB and as well as the Office of PESO. Logically, if there are less public tricycles, there'll be less competitions. In this way, tricycle drivers won't seek anymore for high-fares. If this would be possible, everyone will be satisfied for they can afford the tariff of tricycles without affecting the lives of the drivers.

Purpose

We would like to take an action on this issue because even us, we are being affected because some of the drivers are not afraid to follow the discount or right tariff order for they have connections with the OPSS, Office of Public Safety and Security through this petition, It could encourage and enlighten our local goverment and the community to fix this problem.

Description

According to Antipolo Star News, traffic congestions is not only the concern in commuting in Antipolo City but also the tricycle drivers who overcharge. Social media complaints are not enough, that is why through this petition, we will make a way wherein Local Government, commuters, operators, and drivers will cooperate with each other so that this concern will be solved.

Support

There's already a City Ordinance No. 2009-316, where in commuters could have a formal complaint regarding to the driver's overcharging yet, drivers still asks for special rides and high-fare for commuters. That's why we will reach out to the office of PTRB to minimize the release of franchises to prevent traffic congestions and through that they won't ask for high-fares anymore because they have less competitions. Also, we will reach out to the office of PESO and ask for them to offer more other jobs instead of being a public tricycle driver.
