Subject: Petition for the Reinstatement of Digital Certificate and Improved Support from the Private Security Sector Regulator
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing on behalf of concerned workers and stakeholders within the private security sector to formally petition for the reinstatement of the digital certificate system. The current operational challenges faced by workers due to the inadequacies of the regulator’s physical offices have caused undue hardship and financial strain, which urgently require your attention.
It has become increasingly apparent that the limited number of offices available to the private security sector regulator has placed a significant burden on workers. Many are compelled to bear additional travel expenses merely to access essential services. On numerous occasions, these workers have either been forced to endure long queues or return empty-handed due to non-functional machinery or inefficient service delivery. Such obstacles are both time-consuming and discouraging, undermining the overall effectiveness of the regulatory framework.
In light of the ongoing Fourth Industrial Revolution, it is imperative that the private security sector regulator, in collaboration with partnering companies, actively supports the transition to digital platforms that enable online verification of worker credentials. This modern approach not only streamlines processes but also ensures accessibility and convenience for all parties involved.
We propose the introduction of a comprehensive digital solution, which includes a verification system whereby clients are mandated to declare their sites, with these sites duly registered under regulatory oversight. To enhance accountability and transparency, we recommend the issuance of a name tag bearing the names of the regulator, the client site, and the employing company. Such name tags could be utilised as bail bonds by any of the involved parties—worker, client, or company—thereby fostering a fair and balanced responsibility framework.
Furthermore, we urge the regulator to devise a sustainable revenue plan based on this digitalisation initiative. By leveraging the declaration and registration of sites and the implementation of a tri-party name tag system, the regulator can generate income without placing undue financial burdens on individual workers. This approach not only safeguards workers from bearing all related costs but also expedites assistance whenever they require support from the regulator.
In conclusion, we respectfully call upon the private security sector regulator to reinstate the digital certificate system and enact the proposed reforms that align with contemporary technological advancements. Doing so will alleviate the financial hardships experienced by workers, improve regulatory efficiency, and contribute to a more equitable and modernised private security sector.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to your favourable response and to working collaboratively towards these essential improvements.
Yours faithfully,
