Pickleball at the ZooCity Sportsplex has rapidly become a popular sport among people of all ages, providing a great way for community members to engage in physical activity, social interaction, and outdoor fun. However, many players in our community face significant discomfort and limitations due to the lack of shade and lighting at our local pickleball courts.

Currently, the courts are exposed to direct sunlight, which can be not only uncomfortable but also detrimental to players' health, especially during hot summer days. Excessive sun exposure increases the risk of heat exhaustion, sunburn, and long-term skin damage. Moreover, due to the absence of proper lighting, those who work late or have other daytime commitments are unable to enjoy the game after sunset, restricting access to this beneficial sport.

Adding shade structures over the courts would offer necessary protection from the sun, making the sport more enjoyable and accessible throughout the day. Installing lighting would extend playing hours into the evening, accommodating those who work late and enhancing community engagement.
