Provide online classes during strike disruption

The Issue

All students are requesting that tomorrow’s classes at the London School of Commerce be moved online. We start in the afternoon and finish at the same time parents need to collect their children from school. Due to tomorrow’s Underground strike, travel delays will make this very difficult, and many student parents may not arrive in time to pick up their children, even for after-school clubs. We kindly ask for online classes tomorrow to support all students.

The upcoming Underground strike is expected to cause significant disruptions to public transport services across London. For those who rely on these services to travel to the London School of Commerce, especially student parents, this presents a substantial challenge. With the usual commute now uncertain, it is imperative to provide an alternative method of attending classes that aligns with both academic obligations and family responsibilities.

Online classes will not only ensure continuity of education but will also demonstrate the institution's commitment to the well-being of its students and their families. It offers a flexible solution that accommodates the diverse needs of our student body, minimizing stress and avoiding potential penalties due to unavoidable absences.

By adopting online classes during such disruptions, the London School of Commerce would be setting a precedent in adaptable and considerate educational practices. It would reflect an understanding of the modern challenges faced by students and underscore the importance of inclusivity and empathy in educational policies.

We urge the administration to take immediate action in favor of online classes tomorrow. Sign this petition to support our call for a reasonable and compassionate adjustment in light of the transportation challenges posed by the strike. Together, let's ensure no student is left behind due to circumstances beyond their control.
