We , As a resident of Oakland ca. downtown area , navigati the complexities of daily life is challenging enough without the added burden of parking difficulties. For those of us who are low-income, working tirelessly to support ourselves and our families, coming home after a long day only to find there's no place to park is incredibly disheartening. It’s not just about the inconvenience—it's the strain of constantly scheduling around two-hour parking limits, the frustration of parting with hard-earned money for tickets, and the anxiety of searching for alternative parking at all hours.

We are residents of the buildings in these neighborhoods. We pay our taxes, participate in our community, and contribute to the vibrancy of Oakland.. Therefore, it is only fair that we should be granted the right to park near our homes without this incessant stress. Not having a designated space to park or a permit that ensures we don’t have to continuously move our cars is not just a hassle, it’s a detriment to our quality of life.

This issue is not about convenience—it's a matter of fairness and support for low-income residents. The cost of living is already high, and unexpected expenses such as parking fines can be a real financial burden. It’s time the local government acknowledges this and takes steps to help us, the residents, who are the backbone of this city.

We believe a solution lies in providing free parking permits exclusively for residents of these affected neighborhoods. Such a permit would not only alleviate the stress and financial burden of constantly moving our vehicles, but it would also acknowledge our rightful place in the community.

By signing this petition, you join us in urging the local authorities to recognize the park-related challenges we face and to implement a practical, considerate solution by providing free parking permits to residents of the neighborhoods. Your support can help make day-to-day life in Oakland a little fairer for all of us.
