Today men in nursing make an annual salary of $80,000 while women make $72,700. The reason of this pay gap is mostly due to females having two full-time jobs. When I say two full-time jobs, I mean at home responsibilities, such as kids and taking care of the home, and their actual career. For that reason, females don’t get the same opportunities as male colleagues. I believe that if local hospitals and other careers within the community provided a day-care service for the mothers that work for them it would higher the chances of females getting the same opportunities for promotions as the males.
