Protesting Wrongful Termination of Amanda Libbey

The Issue

To the Leadership of Inspire,

We, the parents and members of the Inspire Walpole South community, submit this letter to express our deep concern regarding the recent termination of Amanda Libbey, Director of the Inspire Walpole South daycare program. We believe this decision was made without due consideration of her exceptional performance, character, and the profound positive impact she has had on our children, our families, and our community. Her termination appears to have been undertaken with a complete disregard for the children’s wellbeing. 

As a daycare director, Amanda has consistently demonstrated what it means to lead with kindness, patience, clarity, and genuine care. She is known for her:

  • Loving and nurturing approach toward every child
  • Kind and respectful communication with parents and staff
  • Strong leadership; marked by calmness, organization, and reliability
  • Solution-focused attitude whenever challenges arise

She has created an environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. Her presence sets the tone for the entire center, and her leadership has been crucial to maintaining stability, trust, and high-quality care.

The news of Amanda’s termination has caused significant distress among families. Parents are extremely upset by management’s decision, not only because it feels inconsistent with Amanda’s proven dedication, but because it has shaken our confidence in the decision-making process at Inspire. Many of us were shocked by the lack of transparency surrounding the action taken, and we believe that a leader as respected and effective as Amanda deserves a fair and thorough review.

For these reasons, we respectfully request the following:

  1. A formal review of the circumstances and decision-making process that led to the termination of Amanda Libbey.
    Immediate reconsideration of her termination, including reinstatement, or suspension of the decision pending the outcome of the review.
  2. Clear communication from Inspire leadership regarding policies, procedures, and criteria used in such decisions.
  3. An opportunity for parents to provide testimony or input into the review process, as many can speak directly to Amanda’s character, professionalism, and positive impact.

This letter represents the unified voice of parents and community members who strongly believe Amanda’s termination was not justified. Our chapter—and more importantly, our children—have greatly benefited from Amanda’s leadership. We urge Inspire management to reevaluate this decision with fairness, transparency, and with the best interests of the children being the number one priority.
