Two of America’s most visible late night comedians are facing the loss of their jobs because they've displeased the president. ABC and Nextstar's decision to terminate the Jimmy Kimmel show, citing political pressure from the FCC, is direct authoritarian censorship. To me, silencing our comedians is one of the clearest signs we are moving towards fascism.

Jimmy Kimmel's comments were not particularly inflammatory.  He said MAGA is “desperate to characterize him as something other than them.” Which was true. Before anything was even known about the shooter there was a MAGA narrative about the Kirk killling being a left wing conspiracy.  

We, as viewers and citizens, must take a stand to support media freedom. I urge you to join me in protesting this decision and to demand that ABC and Nextstar reinstate the Jimmy Kimmel show. Sign this petition to speak out against this alarming descent into direct government censorship.
