Protest Against the Removal of Asynchronous Mode of Learning in AMA Education System

Protest Against the Removal of Asynchronous Mode of Learning in AMA Education System
The Issue
WE, THE UNDERSIGNED ASYNCHRONOUS STUDENTS OF AMA EDUCATION SYSTEM, are writing to express our deepest concern and strong opposition to the recent decision to remove the asynchronous mode of learning offered by your institution. This decision has caused significant distress and disruption to a large number of students, particularly those who rely on this flexible learning format due to various personal circumstances.
Asynchronous learning has been a lifesaver for many AMA students, including:
Students with disabilities (PWDs): For students with physical or learning disabilities, the asynchronous format allows them to complete coursework at their own pace and according to their individual needs, without facing the pressure of real-time online classes.
Working students: Many AMA students are also employed full-time or part-time to support themselves or their families. The asynchronous mode allows them to balance their work and studies effectively by scheduling their learning around their work commitments.
Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs): OFWs often face significant time zone differences and limited internet access. Asynchronous learning enables them to access course materials and complete assignments on their own schedules, regardless of their location or internet connectivity.
In fact, many students specifically chose AMA Education System because of its asynchronous learning offerings. This flexibility was a major deciding factor for us, as it allowed us to pursue our education while fulfilling our other responsibilities.
The sudden removal of this mode of learning has created a number of challenges for students:
Increased stress and anxiety: Students who rely on asynchronous learning are now struggling to cope with the demands of real-time online classes. This has led to increased stress, anxiety, and feelings of isolation.
Academic disruption: The transition to a synchronous format has disrupted the learning schedules and study habits of many students, putting their academic progress at risk.
Financial burden: Some students may be forced to withdraw from AMA due to the unsuitability of the synchronous format. This could result in significant financial losses for both students and the institution.
WE URGE AMA EDUCATION SYSTEM TO RECONSIDER ITS DECISION TO REMOVE THE ASYNCHRONOUS MODE OF LEARNING. We believe that this format is essential for a significant portion of the student body and its removal will have a detrimental impact on our education and well-being.
We demand the following:
The immediate reinstatement of the asynchronous mode of learning as a permanent option for all AMA students.
Open and transparent communication with students regarding any future changes to the learning format.
We hope that AMA Education System will listen to the concerns of its students and take swift action to address this issue. We are confident that a solution can be found that meets the needs of all students and ensures that everyone has the opportunity to succeed in their education.
Sincerely,
AMA EDUCATION SYSTEM ASYNCHRONOUS LEARNERS
