Thanks for signing the petition for countywide Election Day voting! We have the attention of the elected decision makers on the Denton County Commission and the GOP County Chair.
They have realized that there are a lot of voters who want to protect their right to vote on Election Day and don’t like being messed with by the outdated assigned-precinct voting rule.
This is because YOU made it happen. More than 1,300 of you have signed our petition and more than 50 have showed up to speak in support of countywide Election Day voting at a Denton County Commission meeting this summer.
Let's keep the momentum going. Please help by
Sharing the petition. The more Denton County voters see the petition and learn about the issue, the more of them sign the petition and the stronger we become.
Please share the petition to your social media accounts and/or by email...even if you have done it before!!! Not everyone reads all their friends’ posts or emails every day.
Go to https://www.Change.org/votingcentersnow and click on links to the social media sites you use or to copy a link to the petition and paste it into an email to friends.
Speak to the Denton County Commission between 9 am and 10 am on one of these Tuesdays: August 12, August 19 or August 26. You won’t be alone! Five to seven supporters have been speaking at every meeting.
You’ll speak for up to 3 minutes during the Public Comment period at the start of the meeting. You can leave the meeting as soon as you finish if you wish to do so.
Sign up on Mobilize at https://mobilize.us/s/cBntVQ. Shortly after you sign up, you will receive an email with a link to full instructions for getting to the meeting, the time you should be there, how to get yourself on the agenda for the Public Comment period, and a sample speech you can edit as you please (or use as is).
