Powerful people in Denton County say we need to live with the current confusion of Election Day voting that sends 10-15% of voters racing to figure out where to vote before the polls close on every Election Day. This confusion frustrates Republican voters as often as Democrats or independents.
Yet GOP insiders are showing up to speak at every public meeting of the Denton County Commission — the people who will make the decision about countywide Election Day voting — to push false claims that few voters have trouble voting on Election Day … or that our elections will become corrupt if we vote countywide on Election Day, the same way we vote countywide during Early Voting.
That’s why it’s so important for those of us who support Vote Centers — countywide voting on Election Day — show up and speak to the commission.
Every Denton County citizen has the right to speak for up to 3 minutes during the Public Comment period at the start of every commission meeting at 9 am on Tuesdays. We need you to join us at the podium on Tuesday mornings.
The next meeting is July 29, then August 5, the one after than August 12, and so on.
Please go to Mobilize to sign up. Just a few minutes later, you’ll get an email with a link to complete instructions: where to go, how to get there, and even a sample speech you can put in your own words.
