The Issue

For 48 years, I have dedicated my life to standing up for animals and advocating for integrative medicine. My journey began out of a deep passion for ensuring that every animal receives the best care possible, regardless of conventional boundaries. For the past 21 years, I have been actively working to change the practice acts in Massachusetts, to include and allow alternative options that can better serve our clients' animals.

Recently, my commitment to this cause has led me to take a significant step. On my behalf, my lawyers have filed a petition for certiorari to the United States Supreme Court, aiming to protect our First Amendment Rights. Yet, this is not merely about the First Amendment; it's an appeal to safeguard the sanctity of the Veterinary Oath and the Principles of Veterinary Ethics. This petition aims to ensure that veterinarians who adhere to these ethical guidelines are protected, fostering an environment where they can practice with integrity and compassion.

Veterinarians swear an oath to use their knowledge and skills for the benefit of society, protect animal health and welfare, and prevent animal suffering. However, when ethical principles are compromised, both animals and professionals suffer. Veterinarians must be free to explore integrative medicine and alternative therapies without fear of retribution or legal challenges, ensuring they can provide the highest level of care to their patients.

This issue highlights the broader systemic problem within the veterinary community – the reluctance to embrace innovative practices that could significantly improve animal health outcomes. It's crucial that legislation and ethics evolve with scientific advancements to support a diverse range of medical solutions. This approach not only respects the integrity of the Veterinary Oath but also prioritizes the welfare of the animals we are sworn to care for.

By bringing this issue to the highest court, we are taking a stand for veterinarians everywhere who strive to uphold their oath. We are calling on the legal system to acknowledge the importance of these ethical standards and to protect those who remain true to their professional promises.

Stand with me in ensuring that veterinarians can practice without fear, uphold their oath, and prioritize the welfare of animals through progressive and integrative medical opportunities. Join the cause and help push for change by signing this petition today.
