Protect Transgender Girls in Arizona — Vote No on Sports Exclusion
The Issue
Every kid deserves the chance to play. In Arizona, a ballot initiative is asking voters to decide whether transgender girls should be banned from competing on the sports teams that match who they are. We urge voters to reject it.
Transgender girls are girls. They grow up in our communities, attend our schools, and — like any child — benefit from the friendships, discipline, and belonging that come from being part of a team. Excluding them doesn't protect anyone. It singles out some of the most vulnerable kids in our schools and tells them they don't belong.
Nadine Bridges, director of One Colorado, said it plainly: "Our community is just so disappointed that this initiative even made it onto the ballot, especially when it comes to younger kids."
There is no evidence that transgender girls dominate school sports or harm opportunities for other students. What there is evidence of is the real harm that exclusion causes — to mental health, to school engagement, and to the lives of young people who just want to play.
Sign this petition to urge Arizona voters to reject this measure and stand up for every child's right to participate in school sports.
