As a dedicated user of the popular social media platform, TikTok, I have grown increasingly concerned about the prevalence of inappropriate content that is easily accessible to users of all ages. This issue became personal to me when my younger sibling stumbled upon disturbing videos while using the app.

TikTok has over 1 billion active users worldwide and a significant portion of this user base is under 18 (Datareportal, 2021). It's alarming that such a large number of young individuals are potentially exposed to harmful content on a daily basis. The current content moderation policies in place are evidently insufficient in protecting users from encountering explicit material.

We call on TikTok to take immediate action by strengthening their content monitoring systems and implementing stricter regulations for video uploads. We believe these measures will create a safer environment for all users, especially minors who make up an important part of the platform's community.
