Protect the Rights and Interests of Private Sector Salaried Tax Payers in India

The Issue

As a devoted and law-abiding citizen, we have always strived to contribute positively to my beloved nation, India. However, I am deeply dismayed by the taxation system that is disproportionately affecting the honest, hardworking employees in the private sector. Here, we dedicate our efforts to aiding national growth initiatives, but we find ourselves overburdened with taxes with little to no benefits in return.

Our collective efforts are what build our nation and yet we are left with no options for pension, despite our regular and substantial contributions in the form of taxes. The funds raised from our hard-earned incomes are diverted to revive old pension schemes for government employees, and simultaneously to provide freebies for those who, at times, have not been contributing to the nation's progress.

India is home to over 80% of total employment in the private sector (source: World Bank). This underscores the critical need for our government to address the concerns of private sector employees – the backbone of our economy.

Cuts to our heavily taxed incomes have rendered us helpless. If this taxing trend continues, we, the engine of the nation's prosperity, will be compelled to be part of the brain drain, adding value to foreign nations instead of our own. Even though our savings are taxed to an extent our transparency has become a curse to us.

This is a plea to the Indian Government, to not overlook the interests of millions of private sector employees. We urge for a fair taxation system and the introduction of a pension scheme for us. We wish to remain an asset to our nation, contribute to its growth, and make it the world's best country. I envision a future where every Indian citizen is treated with fairness and respect, and our taxation system should reflect this. Please sign this petition to urge the Government to safeguard the rights and benefits of private sector employees in India.
