Our village is considering a ban—or severe restrictions—on keeping backyard chickens. While we fully support responsible ownership, over-regulation would take away a valuable source of fresh eggs, sustainable food production, and educational opportunities for families and youth.

Backyard chickens, when cared for properly, are clean, quiet, and beneficial to our community. Instead of punishing responsible residents, our village should promote fair, reasonable guidelines that preserve our agricultural heritage.
