The Issue

In a January 2025 meeting, the Metro Nashville Planning Commission approved moving forward with the technical study, "Belle Meade Highlands Mobility Study." Through their research, they found that there has been significant growth in the Belle Meade area the past 15 years, greatly effecting locals through increased traffic. Leisure sights such as Cheekwood and Percy Warner Golf Course have also experienced great increase in visitors, introducing parking problems with their limited space. The issue comes in as the committee believes that a road branching from Highway 100 could mediate the traffic concerns. While this seems like the likely solution, the proposed road would go straight through the Percy Warner Mountain Biking Trails.

Percy Warner Mountain Biking Trails are used by many for personal enjoyment and team riding. Many Nashville riders go to these trails as they are the only trails offered in the Nashville area (closest being Bell's Bend 30 minutes away). A road going through these trails would effect the safety of riders, safety of wildlife, and overall serenity of the park. Nashville is such a fast growing city with much urbanization, don't let the beloved trails and the escape to nature they offer fall to the hands of cement and trucks.

Sign this petition to protect Nashville's parks and keep the love of biking strong for both new and verteran riders.
