The Issue

The L.A.M.B.S. (Love All My Brothers and Sisters) Foundation’s leadership is not just recognized—it is celebrated. In 2022, since Juneteenth became a federal holiday, City Council passed an ordinance formally designating T.E.A.M.L.A.M.B (Tell Everyone Around Me Love All My Brothers) and The L.A.M.B.S Foundation as the exclusive producers of this annual cultural festival. Our work has been the catalyst for community unity and historical reflection.

In 2024, our foundation was honored with an official City of Virginia Beach Juneteenth Proclamation, as well as the Promoter of the Year, Community Impact, and Game Changer awards. Furthermore, we were humbled to receive the Champion of Change Award from the NAACP of Virginia Beach and the Human Rights Award from the Virginia Beach Human Rights Commission.

Juneteenth at the Beach has grown into one of the city’s most impactful cultural celebrations, drawing 15,000+ attendees, generating 40,000+ Oceanfront foot traffic, and supporting 150+ small, women-, and minority-owned businesses. Additionally, the event has created paid opportunities for 400+ creatives and generated millions of media impressions.

Despite this proven success, recent funding decisions have shifted support away from the event’s founders, putting its cultural integrity, continuity, and fair pay for creatives at risk—we seek protection that is already standard for other city-supported festivals like Fil-Am Fest and Pride Fest that have seen no changes in their funding process.

This is about legacy, culture, and community leadership.

We urge the City Council to restore leadership and funding to T.E.A.M L.A.M.B and The L.A.M.B.S Foundation. Sign this petition to protect Juneteenth at the Beach and support its original founders.
