Protect the Heart of Harris Community Village
Protect the Heart of Harris Community Village
The Issue
As a resident of Harris Community Village, I know firsthand the challenges we've all faced. Our community is a sanctuary for families who have experienced domestic violence, hardship, and homelessness. Through these trials, we have strengthened our resilience, but we couldn't have done it alone. Amber and Erika, our dedicated case managers, have been the backbone of our community. They provide support, guidance, and a sense of stability that many of us have relied on to rebuild our lives.
Unfortunately, Switchpoint, the organization overseeing our community, has made the unsettling decision to replace them. This decision threatens the very fabric of our support system. Amber and Erika understand the intricate needs and history of our community. Their empathy, personal investment, and unwavering support are irreplaceable. For many of us, they are not just case managers; they are a lifeline.
According to a report from the National Coalition for the Homeless, the role of case managers is critical in helping individuals transition from crisis to stability. A disruption in such services can lead to setbacks and increased vulnerability. We cannot let this happen to the residents of Harris Community Village.
We propose that Switchpoint reconsider its decision. Instead of replacement, let's focus on enhancing and supporting the work Amber and Erika are doing. Investing in these strong relationships will provide our community the best chance to heal, grow, and thrive.
We urge you to join us in this critical fight to maintain the support structure that Amber and Erika provide. Sign this petition to show Switchpoint the power of our community's voice and the importance of keeping Amber and Erika in their roles. Together, we can make a difference.
