As of today we have over 1,740 signatures and rising!

This beautiful Valley, loved by locals and holiday makers alike  is slowly being eroded by developments.

It is thousands of years old , first formed in the ice age, layers of different strata can clearly be seen in the Cliffs,  brought down with the ice flow, in the Lower part of the Valley at Porth Nanven .  Later farmed by Bronze Age man and later still mined for its tin and copper.Evidence abounds of this occupation from Cornish hedges, from the Bronze Age  , to the Mines which abound , with ruins of the workings throughout the Valley. Two Mills were adjacent to each other located on the steep sides of this little valley , lower down but close to the “pond” development. They are now converted into homes, but the Millstone, some beams and cogs can still be seen in Helston Museum. With old sepia photos of the Millers. The Mills were fed by leats, which were channels the Cot Stream flowed through to turn the mill wheels.

The Bio diversity of the Valley is amazing and it abounds with wild creatures. On evening walks , just as dusk is settling in , you can see the badgers setting about their nocturnal activities. Rabbits hopping under the hedgerows. Foxes starting to prowl for their next meal. During the day ,birds of prey dip and swirl in the skies above, keeping an eye for the next mouse to feed their young.

Ancient trees dot the hillside, and Wildflowers and Grasses can be seen as far as the eye can see in  Spring and Summer.   Even in Autumn and Winter the shades of  orange and green  within  its steep sides are beautiful.

This is a magical place ,  and as such,  further development MUST be stopped.
