The planning deadline is fast approaching and we need desperately to save and protect this unique place . We need to stop this Lake from being finished . The County Council must be stopped from allowing this Planning to pass. Originally excavated without planning permission , now in its second retrospect application. 
The stream running through its base  out to sea at Porth Nanven is becoming polluted with sediment and weeds from the crumbling Dam banks , the clear gravel bed, home for spawning brown trout, home for Elvers from the Sargosso Sea, who live in its pools for years , before returning to repeat the cycle. All under threat. Unable to breed. Otters were once monitored on the site of this Lake . They have vanished.,Badgers live within yards of its banks but for how long ? The home for all of this wonderful flora and fauna , this irreplaceable Valley, will be gone forever unless we act now. We have battled for three years, with not only the wildlife under threat but people’s homes lower in the Valley . Flooding is a very real issue should the thousands of gallons of water , held back by its soil banks burst , flooding homes and the protected  National Trust land which leads down to the little beach , where the stream cascades onto the rocks
