Protect Sikkim’s Identity – Restrict Voting Rights to Genuine Sikkimese

Protect Sikkim’s Identity – Restrict Voting Rights to Genuine Sikkimese
The Issue
We demand that voting rights in Sikkim must be given only to genuine and legally verified people to protect our identity and future.
Voting rights should be limited to:
1. Sikkim Subject Register (SSR) holders
2. Valid ICC holders under the Sikkim Citizenship (Amendment) Order, 1989
3. Verified residents prior to 26 April 1975 holding Residential Certificates issued by the Home Department, Government of Sikkim (2015)
4. Names recorded in the 1979 Election Commission records
---
Important Concern:
The transfer of voting rights into Sikkim by people from outside the state must be strictly verified under Indian citizenship laws and Sikkim’s special legal provisions. Any wrongful inclusion must be corrected immediately.
---
Our Message:
No compromise on Sikkim’s identity, justice, and future.
