With a heavy heart, we need your support to protect Shon's job, a custodian at our high school who has played an instrumental role in uplifting student voices and advocating for school sports. Irrespective of our school schedule, his tenure is purported to end this Thursday- a decision we vehemently oppose.

Over the years, Shon has become more than just a custodian for us. He personifies kindness, positivity, and has a unique ability to raise spirits around him. He cares for our school, looks after our needs, and has always been an unwavering advocate for students. The halls of Sumner High will seem emptier without him; his absence will be a significant loss.

Such impactful personalities should be celebrated, not let go. While the financial constraints of our education system are known to all, it is essential to recognize that cutting on staff like Shon is not just a loss of a job, but a loss of a crucial supportive figure from our community - a loss which could profoundly affect the school morale and spirit.

However disheartening this situation is, we still believe in the power of voices and, therefore, are writing this petition. We must let the district board know how important Shon is to us and how his departure will negatively impact our school environment. We urgently appeal to the school board and all the concerned authorities to reconsider Shon's employment status.
