As a service industry worker for most of my life, I have experienced firsthand the unfair practices by some restaurant and bar owners who mishandle our hard-earned tips. Many of my coworkers and I have been taken advantage of, with our tips being used to benefit the business rather than those who earned them.

We need a law in California that ensures full control over tip management is given to employees or establishes a fair distribution system that benefits the workers. It's time we protect service industry workers from these exploitative practices.
