The future of our society and the protection of children must be a priority. With a deep sense of responsibility towards humanity and the generations to come, it’s imperative the U.S. government implement enforcement of proper federal child protection laws for crimes against minors. Such heinous acts against vulnerable children deserve severe consequence enforced by strict law that will ensure a message of no tolerance and safeguard the future.

Every year thousands of children across the United States have suffered, leaving lasting scars on physical and mental well-being. According to the National Children's Alliance nearly 700,000 children are abused annually in the U.S., with more than 1,800 fatalities as result. These numbers are not just statistics, they represent damaged lives who were robbed of an innocent childhood. Harm upon a child is not just a crime; it is a moral fail that tears at the fabric of our society. 

While child protection laws exist, there is  inconsistent variation of prosecutions especially from state to state. It is time for the US government to step in and establish uniform regulation that will hold all perpetrators accountable.  A federal mandate will ensure that all states adhere the same vital standard and that justice will be served. 

We the People call for legislation that imposes strict felony penalty of death for those found guilty of intentional involvement inflicting any significant harm or abuse of minors. We further call for the reform of child protection services, also any related first time misdemeanor penalties must include a mandatory completion of a correctional course, and any relevant repeat of a misdemeanor offense charge with harm or potential harm of a minor will be automatically elevated with a felony status. By doing so, we not only deliver justice for the victims and their families, but also deter potential perpetrators from committing such crimes.
