My heart aches as I hear of churches attacked, worshippers harassed, and religious gatherings violently disrupted. These aren't just isolated incidents, but rather a pattern that threatens the diverse, harmonious society we all cherish.

In Gujarat alone, several documented cases reveal the severity of this issue — churches have been vandalized, Christians attacked in broad daylight, and gatherings forcefully disbanded. This persecution is deeply personal to me, and I am urgently advocating for change. I find solace in praying to God, seeking the intercession of Our Lady of Bandel in Bengal, hoping that her guidance will help find solutions to restore peace, stability, and justice in our land.

Religious freedom is a fundamental human right, enshrined in India's Constitution. Yet, the reality on the ground paints a picture of intolerance and discrimination, directly opposing our nation's commitment to safeguarding diversity. The current situation demands immediate attention from all levels of government and civil society to uphold these constitutional rights.

Media channels must also play a proactive role in depicting unbiased accounts of these events, ensuring the truth is reported and misinformation is not allowed to spread.
