Protect Refugees Fleeing Violence and Persecution

The world is facing the largest refugee crisis since the end of World War II.
We are seeing desperate people seeking refuge from violence, famine, and oppression—Syrians, Afghans, Iraqis, and others—trapped in train stations, detained in inhumane conditions, hit with tear gas and pepper spray, and shunted from one border to another. During that same time, scores have died while crossing the Mediterranean, families have been torn apart, and images of drowned children washed upon shores have shocked the world.
This is unacceptable, and we must act now.
Human Rights Watch is on the front lines protecting the rights of refugees. Our researchers are on the ground ensuring the truth is exposed and these people’s voices are heard. Our advocates are working in capitals to pressure leaders around the world to remove barriers to safe passage for families seeking protection.
Help us mobilize action for refugees in crisis. Pledge your support and tell the world that you stand for the rights of people desperate to find a safe place to call home.
