Pinewood Reserve, a peaceful neighborhood nestled along Lee Vista Blvd. between Young Pine Rd. and SR 417, is facing a serious threat. A proposal has been made to build a 7-Eleven gas station right at the entrance of our community—directly beside a cherished conservation area and a wooded athletic trail that were key selling points when residents chose to make Pinewood their home.

This isn’t just about a gas station. It’s about protecting the natural beauty, safety, and integrity of our neighborhood.

Our community was built around the promise of nature, tranquility, and connection to wildlife. Residents have embraced this vision, actively working to preserve the environment and reduce crime, including a history of car break-ins that we've worked hard to address. The proposed gas station undermines these efforts and introduces new risks—environmental, safety, and social—that do not align with our values or goals.

To make matters worse, many residents were not directly notified of the upcoming public hearing on Tuesday, September 16, making this a time-sensitive issue that demands immediate attention.

We urge the City of Orlando to listen to the voices of Pinewood Reserve. Prioritize the long-term well-being of our environment and our community. Veto this proposal and stand with us in protecting what makes Pinewood Reserve special.
