Protect our oceans: stop plastic littering now!

The Issue

It’s important to think about the future of the world, especially now with the climate change. A lot of people care about nature, climate and the future of the next generation. One of the things that is ruining the world is the plastic soup, lots of animals are consuming micro-plastics. What a lot of people don’t realise is that when the animals consume the plastics, us people eat the animals and indirectly eat the micro-plastics. This is a big problem, if we don’t try and stop it now, who knows what’s going to happen.

Goal

The only and most important goal of this petition, is to help restore our oceans and all that comes with them. With this goal we’re trying to raise awareness about our oceans, with the following tips you can become more eco-friendly.

Why is it important?

Maybe you don’t notice it on the surface, but somewhere there are animals fighting for their lives. Looking for food in the dying coral reefs, or stuck in a net, maybe they have to much plastic in their bodies and take their last breath. We have to keep fighting, to help get the ocean clean. It’s important because why should we live a normal life, when animals don’t?

Action:

Maybe animals can’t do anything, but perhaps we can.

Recycling/reuse

  • Try to use bags that you can use again
  • Use cups and water bottles, try to avoid non-reusable cups
  • Try and recycle as much as possible
  • Choose products that have none to some plastic packaging
  • Sort your garbage as much as possible
  • Buy recyclable products

Local

  •  Join local cleaning communities, to clean beaches, parks and other public spaces
  • Start your own plastic cleaning community with your family or friends

Media

  • Show others you’re living eco-friendly
  • Learn and inform thru media how to use less plastic

Clothes

  • Choose eco-friendly clothes like, cotton and wool

The oceans will never turn back the way they were, but with your help we might get a chance to restore parts of them. We would appreciate it if you signed our petition.

Thank you!
