Protect Our National Parks and Public Lands From Unfavorable Policies
The Issue
As a young citizen who has visited 51 out of 63 national parks in our country at the age of eight, I am deeply concerned about the future of these national treasures. Together with my mom, I host a podcast titled "National Parks for Kids," where we share our experiences and provide valuable insights about these parks. We want to ensure that these parks' natural beauty remains untarnished so future kids can enjoy them too.
Our national parks and public lands are under threat from some policies implemented by our current administration. Changes that can possibly alter the landscape, natural habitat, and overall serenity these parks offer. It's a distressing thought that these spaces, crafted by nature over millions of years, could be irreversibly damaged within our lifetime.
These parks serve not just as a haven for multiple endangered species but also as irreplaceable attractions that add charm to our nation. In fact, these parks have been found to contribute an economy boosting $41.7 billion and 340,500 jobs across the nation as of 2019 (Source: National Park Service report).
Protecting these natural and cultural resources is a binding responsibility we must take and for that, a change in policy is crucial.
We urge our government to take a stand to protect these national parks for generations to come. Let's unite and extend our support to prevent threats to the existence and beauty of our National Parks. We plead with you to take into consideration the love and appreciation we all hold for these lands. Please, sign this petition and let your voice be heard.
