We've included two letters: one from our group, and the reply from the City of Hamilton.
We also want to mention our environmental allies. Unfortunately, I misspoke last time, neither group is sharing their plans moving forward.
Our letter to the planning department speaks for itself. However, in our opinion, the reply from the head of the city's planning department is misleading. The golf course, the city, and maybe the province too, are regrouping because we're challenging their narrative, which is full of misinformation. Remember, the signs are still up. Forth and their allies are regrouping because of our petition and because we're bringing the truth to light on this issue. They're driven by greed and by narcissistic characters who hate having the truth exposed, and their actions will have far reaching consequences for the city and province if left unchallenged.
We'll also be challenging the applicants on water consumption at their existing facilities and in the proposed new development. We'll be insisting that well water be monitored within a one mile radius, including the hamlet of Copetown and the Orkney development, for the next ten years. We have water issues right now, and we believe more unsustainable development will only make them worse.
In short, the battles continue. Not one politician has stepped forward to promise they'll intervene and enforce their own rules to stop this ridiculous application. Please keep calling out our councillors, and keep asking our MPP, Donna, where she and Doug stand on this issue.
