Quick hello to remind everyone that politicians and bureaucrats work for the people.
Unfortunately, through political correctness, union influence, and mandates driven by a select few, the narrative has been manipulated and perhaps even taken from the public.
Today I’d like to remind you, or inform those who may not know, about a complaint made to the Grand River Conservation Authority regarding activities taking place on environmentally sensitive land, including areas within a proposed golf course expansion.
Information and photos were provided showing the installation of culverts, water diversion, tree and brush clearing, and maple syrup extraction—activities that appear to be prohibited under the agency’s own rules.
After investigating these concerns, it was determined that no rules had been broken.
Excuse me? Their own documentation clearly outlines that none of this should have been permitted. So the question is: why, how, and who made this decision? Especially when we know this agency’s past track record of strict enforcement over salamanders, bird nests, or even a turtle trail. In some cases, their actions have caused significant financial and emotional hardship. Yet in this case, enforcement seems absent. Why?
We have yet to receive a logical explanation from anyone at the Grand River Conservation Authority. Should we once again wonder whether there is a two-tier system at play?
Please reach out to the golf course or your municipality. Speak with the mayor and ask whether she is willing to stand with residents on this environmental matter. She certainly enjoys a talking point.
And last but not least, now that Mr. Edsel—sorry, Ford—has decided the jet wasn’t the right colour and voters were unhappy, perhaps it’s time to call your provincial representatives and ask for answers. Will the bureaucracy allow yet another miscarriage of justice?
